One of a Kind

Philosophy:

We designed this bench as per the clients specifications for size and proposed use as well as its form of decoration to be a one of a kind bench that creates a dramatic interplay of color and pattern while ensuring that the bench is highly functional and extremely well crafted. The combination of the old stock maple and the Black Diamond Richlite used in the construction of the piece is considered to follow LEED Gold or Silver Building Practices, Green Practices, and Best Practices.

Materials:

Local old stock highly figured tiger maple solids and custom 1/8” veneer and 1/16” veneer, custom cut 1/8”old stock domestic and foreign woods, brass, aluminum, copper, and Richlite Black Diamond made from 100% recycled FSA grade paper, Rock Hard Tabletop Varnish, and Harrel’s past wax.

36 different species and figured grain patterns to include: African, Honduran, mahogany; American black walnut; American cherry; Aromatic red cedar; Asian elm; Black and white ebony; Bloodwood; Bocote;  Brazilian cherry; Brown Mallee; Bubinga; Cocobolo; English walnut; Goncalo Alves; Kingwood; Koa; Macassar Ebony; Maple, Olive wood; Osage orange; Padauk;  Pink ivory; Purpleheart; Red Mallee burl; Rosewood East Indian and Bolivian; Satinwood- Ceylon; Sycamore; Tamboti; Teak; Tulipwood; Wenge; Western white cedar; Zebrawood; and Ziricote.

Construction:

Dovetailed drawers, Mortice and tenon rail system, laminated side and leg structure, Dados and rabbit joinery drawers bottoms, and back, and applied veneer mosaic work and presentation surfaces.
